Where does a bank holiday take you?
The holiday season is here and many families are heading away for a long deserved break, either in this country or travelling abroad, and a large amount of people will be staying local to enjoy the offerings of the West Midlands region. The weather over this Easter period is looking tremendous helping those people who have had to endure the stress and bad news of recent months which has perhaps been intensified by them losing their jobs, and incurring the higher fuel prices.
This Easter break is providing some well dissevered Sun Therapy.
Over the last few years the weather has not been kind as last year at this time we had a period of cold weather and snow. The one thing we like to say is that when the Sun shines in the West Midlands the whole area takes on a different aspect and there are many great places to visit either for a day or a long weekend break.
The region of the West Midlands has some great places to visit; people will have their favourite places to visit - some like the countryside, some like the attractions such as Alton Towers, Drayton Manor and possibly attractions like the West Midlands Safari Park. There are those who will like to visit the local pubs beer garden for some quality food.
We also have the shoppers who for whatever reason will have the need for some retail therapy and will visit the town centres such as Telford' shopping center and Solihull’s Touchwood centre and shopping centres such as the Black Country’s very own - Merry Hill shopping centre. The blokes will decide to stay at home with the intention of working in the garden or have a trip to the garden centre or DIY superstore to mingle with the masses that are looking for the potted plants, the barbecues and Garden furniture.
To be able to be able to do any of theses activities there is one common theme which helps make a decision is “ching ching” Money !!!!. We as a business know that people’s budgets are being squeezed and with the large amount of uncertainty about the future/jobs consumers are thinking longer and harder about how they spend their hard earned money.
The choice of activities which we have mentioned above all can prove to be costly, a family visit to an attraction can be very expensive, again a meal in a restaurant can be expensive so how and what makes people make a decision on their leisure time activity. There is a lot of choice not forgetting the garden centres that also need to be able sell their wares and offer an attractive proposition.
So HOW does a business stand out and get the consumers interest.
We know that people look at Google/Facebook to find out information and often try and see if there are any deals available.
Deals such as 2 for 1 or 30% off discount are all very appealing and there is a good feeling created when you know that you are getting a better deal than the average customer.
Everyone loves a bargain, and a consumer will talk about and pass the message on about a great value deal.
