Trigate House connects local businesses to office space.

Trigate House connects local businesses to office space.

The other day we called to see Helen and Philip at Trigate house, where they specialise in the onsite provision of small to medium office space to businesses on a short or long term lease arrangement.

For those that don’t know Trigate House, it’s based on the corner where the Hagley Road West meets the Wolverhampton Road, opposite The Amber Tavern pub and not far from where Jonathans Hotel and Restaurant used to be.

We called by - because of Twitter, we were directly messaged by Helen as she was actively looking to connect with us in order to promote the services which they as a local business are offering; as well as to inform us of a meeting/seminar which they are organising later this month to help inform local businesses on certain aspects of business start-up.

Their seminar which is titled ‘Business Basics Open Day’ has a number of speakers from local companies touching on subjects like:-

  • Marketing your Business
  • Legal and Debt Recovery
  • Technology and Social Media
  • Understanding Accountancy
  • Business Support

It’s the first time they have held such an event, but they are looking to do these on a regular basis should the demand dictate.

We had a lengthy discussion with Philip as well as having a tour of the offices, and we must say that we were suitably impressed with the location, the facilities and the staff.

On the point of location, it is possible that in years to come the position of Trigate House could be extremely more beneficial for the local businesses based there as if rumoured plans are to believed it would see any proposed metro tram lines going past their building with a station stop being exactly outside their premises – hence making commuting to work at Trigate House even easier than it already is.

The office space which is available to businesses caters on a desk basis, in that you pay for the number of desks in the office rather than the space within the office. This means that an office could have 4 desks in it (currently) but the office could be large enough to cater for further desks, however, you would only pay for the initial 4 desk space.

Being based where it allows you to upgrade or downsize to suit how your business is trading. If you were experiencing problems or needed to help keep an eye on costs you can downgrade to a smaller office, likewise if the business is going well and you need more staff to expand you can upgrade to a larger office.

Unlike others, Trigate House allows for flexibility, a contract with them is not a long term one as their contracts are on a rolling 3 months basis – but once your business is based there you can upgrade or downsize your office space at any time. After all, it’s in their best interests to accommodate how a small business operates, as the more successful it is, the bigger the offices they’ll need and hopefully the longer they will stay.
