Is being able to connect with another business hard?

The past two days has seen us have yet more meetings to move both the Prequire trading styles (Connect WM and Need to Sort) further forward.

For what seems like an eternity now all that has seemed to happen on a daily basis is meetings, meetings, and yet more meeting, during which everyone is repeating their businesses models, their aims, intentions and developments.

One thing the past two years has taught us is to take stock of who you talk to......!

Have you ever noticed that when you talk to someone, how when it’s your turn to talk about your business how they’re eyes seem to go glazed and what you’re saying simply washes over them and they don’t connect?

Experience now tells us that if that is the case don’t take anything any further with them, the reason is that chances are that you will be a number..... Someone who in their eyes is just there to be sold to, nothing more and nothing less.

Do not hope that somewhere down the line some reciprocal business will be done, because chances are it will not...there will always be an excuse as to why this cannot happen?

Recently we’ve learnt to structure our meetings and their requirements differently, it used to be that we’d look to help and engage with local businesses in the supply of our services via Need to Sort.... reality was that many local businesses let us down quite badly in some cases, and it is down to some local businesses that Need to Sort has been delayed in launching.

The meetings we have had over the past two days in Coventry and Solihull have been really positive, they have opened our eyes and given us revived hope to the fact that there are some really good local businesses out there businesses who take the time to impart their experience knowledge and assistance to help and work with start-up businesses in which you could class both Connect WM and Need to Sort as.

In fact, we recently heard somewhere that the official classification of a start-up business is a business which has been operating for up to 42 months.

The hardest thing for any local business whether they are sole trader, partnerships, or even a limited company is to not panic and not get sidetracked......panic into being too in the face to get the sale....getting sidetracked in wanting to help everyone else first in the hope it will provide payback.

In all honesty the panic and sidetracked things - are the two areas a lot of local businesses find themselves in.... including ourselves.

Being able to connect is key for any business, as this could and does ultimately provide a longer-lasting reciprocal relationship.....notice we say reciprocal.....

We would suggest not to purposely fall out with any local business, even if they have let you down, as there may always be a reason...chances are you will not agree with the reason as well as the energy and time spent just not worth it.....something again we have learnt ourselves.

Although we’re bound to say this....but....no-one has incurred: - the problems, been let down by so many people, been given false promise after false promise more than us....... We know that's not the case which is why we’re still here working on building and creating the Connect WM site, to help local businesses.

Not just the past two days...but since we took the bull between the horns and stopped waiting on the false promises made to us by some local businesses have we moved forward.....and become fully in control.

Being able to fully connect is what is helping us now......it might ...just might help all local business also...
