Find it in Wolverhampton helps connect local businesses to Business Improvement at the Molineux

At the start of the week, we received an invite to attend a Find it in Wolverhampton meeting which was being held at Wolverhampton Wanderers football ground.

So off we went driving along the Wolverhampton Road from our base in Cradley Heath at 6.10 am, there were hardly any cars on the road, and when we’re saying hardly we’re meaning next to none – is it a true sign that summer holidays has indeed started? Or the fact the price of fuel is now so sky-high? Or that it was simply just too goddam early.

For us in making the effort to go to a breakfast networking meeting in Wolverhampton at such an early start, has to make you wonder; will those who will be there, be avid business people, early risers or just total insomniacs.

On arrival, we headed towards the Billy Wright end of the Wolves Football stadium where the event was being held in the Hayward Suite one of the many conference rooms available. Although perhaps we shouldn’t, we were surprised to see some familiar faces who we have to meet at other Find it meetings both at Sandwell and Birmingham.

In order to prepare the mind and body for what lay ahead, we first had a cup of tea…..as you would….! Whilst preparing ourselves with just the right amount of milk and sugar (never good to overdo it) we bumped into Tony Wood from the Black Country Reinvestment Society with whom we had a brief chat as to how things are going in helping local businesses access finance in the West Midlands.

Then whilst sipping the first-morning cuppa we like many other breakfast networkers present would start scouring the room for unsuspecting people to talk to.

After a period of time, we were all ushered to our seats to listen to the presentation to be given by Teamworx who are Business Improvement Professionals based over at the e-Innovation Centre in Telford.

Their presentation was both informative and enlightening in how quite possibly everyone in the room falls into the same area of office place malfunctions – their talk went through elements of varying steps and processes to help businesses become more organised which would not only make offices look tidy but also help by having a knock-on effect in production, duplication, and more important bottom line profit.

Everyone in attendance then went through an exercise which proved the point being made by the presentation, as sometimes many people only get the full understanding of what’s being said by taking part in an exercise.

At the end of the presentation, breakfast was served to allow further time for either question to be asked in regards to the presentation or for people to carrying on as they did prior which was networking.

During this networking period, we came across Pete Davies from Industrial Refrigeration Services who are based over in Bromsgrove – Pete explained about his company and how they are actively out there seeking new potential clients.

They cater for 3 main areas which are:

  • Refrigeration
  • Air Conditioning
  • Energy Management

Considering the line of business they’re in, their business strapline is quite nifty which is ‘Cooler Thinking’

We continued to speak with Pete on a number of things so that we got a firm understanding and were able to connect to what it is the company does, as well as what it is they’re after.

As the time neared the end the breakfast networkers started to disburse heading off to the daily grind on a full belly – and we were no different so off we went back into the car and off into what the business day had to offer.
