Been asked to connect to a business opportunity at a networking event?

Throughout the West Midlands networking scene, there are growing numbers of people and businesses who on top of what they already do have connected and either bought into or may have been convinced at partaking in a specific business opportunity.

There are different business opportunities such as franchising or multi-level marketing the latter being what is being discussed here.

Some multi-level marketing businesses provide extremely good business referral opportunities within breakfast and lunch networking meetings..... Providing, of course, the products and services are of good value and service.

Once you have looked and bought into a business opportunity you will have realised that multi-level marketing relies on people staying focused on the objective which is to build a business, a business which the training instils to you is YOUR business....! - No-one else’s...

However to do this you need to build a successful distributor or introducer team of people which is not as easy that it may first appear.....building a team of people is a skill, the people need to be of the right calibre, they need to be positive, sales friendly, likeable, committed.

In reality, a large majority of those who are targeted and sign up are not always the right people, either they do not have the time, they think their better than they actually are, or they don’t fully understand the opportunity and its future benefits, or there’s a conflict of interests, or worst still the personal dislike with the underlying ‘why should I do anything...thought!.

Whatever the state and mixture of a business opportunity team, everything needs to be overlooked and overcome. One way to do this is to have regular meetings which every team member has agreed to, as this could help to provide knowledge and assistance and overcome any business or personal issues.

The unfortunate reality is that even though such meetings will have been agreed to by the team, there are those who will let outside influences and thoughts cloud their commitment to the business opportunity and not turn up to the meetings.

No matter how much commitment the head of the team (referred to as the ‘Up-Line’ in multi-level marketing talk) may have there come a time when the realisation is that if team members do not wish to play ball, are not committed, ignorant, or have others reasons for lack of input or meeting attendance then you simply have to let them go.

Under no circumstance get sidetracked and wish and hope for things to work, it’s hard enough keeping yourself on the right track, than taking on board other peoples lack of general interest in the growing and nurturing team members.

All you can do to build your team is to actively look at alternative ways to build and continue with the regular meetings and help those who turn up and show commitment, leaving the door open for those who may wish to return to the fold.
