Are you able to Connect when you need the help of a business coach?

During the last few years have read many books on sales techniques, goal setting and business planning, the majority of which talk about how to look at the world in a positive way and follow steps that will help people and businesses achieve success.

Business Coaches use these theories when they are presenting to a prospect. The word “GOAL” is a keyword used by all business mentors - and to be honest, they do provide a service, but is it a service for all or just those who are open-minded. Truth is that whether or not it has any profound effect on the client remains to be seen.

There are some brilliant phrases used by people like Jim Rohn who is quoted on numerous occasions by mentors and business coaches, and unless you’re into the whole coaching ethos and zone many of these phrases are mind-blowing as to how commonsensical they are.

Being able to connect is what makes a business coach stand out, being able to connect and motivate is the ultimate but alias the motivating part for many people stops once they have left the room. So it’s the connect part that is paramount to any successful coaching aspect.

Many breakfast and lunch network meetings seem to be full of these types of people who talk a fantastic game - but have they walked in success.

We once connected a business coach to a manufacturing company with whom we were dealing, his advice to them covered a multitude of things however the company said the only way that they would employ or uses somebody is if they (the business coach) can show the results.

We all both people and businesses need coaching just like sporting professionals but how do we know what we are getting?

Remember that business coaches are trained in the art of communication (some would use the word sales) and many will be very good at presenting their case to you.

Reviews and recommendations are vital when making a choice of a business coach for you to connect with them and for them to connect with you and your business. Get them to give you the name and number of some of the people and businesses they have worked with, and ring and follow them up – don’t just ask for the details and do nothing.

Now this may be being sounding a little bit suspicious but don’t just rely on the great format of “LinkedIn” it’s so easy to get people to write a nice review and when you look - it’s one of their friends or newly aligned business partners.

You may ask well how does Connect WM get results and sales, well our response is “we just do it”, all the talking planning and meetings things are great but “Just Asking“ is the simplest way to move forward.

Our attitude is if people look at you and you think that they think you are “silly”. Then ask yourself are those types going to pay the bills, even more reason for you too, 'think like a winner - after all, in you're head should be the fact that it's you and not them who needs to win the race!
