venuebirmingham was the only Birmingham venue to reach the winner’s podium at Monday night’s Meetings Industry Marketing Awards – taking bronze for the “Best Use of Budget”.
The accolade comes at a time when most businesses are having to make every penny count, and is further recognition that the marketing team at venuebirmingham has come-up with a value-for-money equation which will both raise the profile of Birmingham and bring more business into the city.
The Meetings Industry Marketing Awards are organised each year by Conference and Travel Publications (CAT).
And at last night’s glittering presentation dinner – at The Brewery, in London – venuebirmingham beat off stiff opposition to claim bronze behind Mexia Communications (gold) and Palais de Congres de Montreal (silver) in the Best Use of Budget category.
“It’s another huge leap forward for us,” said a delighted Sales & Marketing Manager, Frances Mann. “Just to have been shortlisted shows that we’re on the right track now. And while we’re all obviously thrilled to have come away with one of the top three awards, it will help us to work even harder to make sure we are soon recognised as the best of the best! It’s a great credit to the team, and another accolade for Birmingham.”
Operating from the University of Birmingham campus in Edgbaston, Meetings Industry Marketing Awards has enjoyed a summer of new facilities and high profile visitors.
It’s taken more than 100 years to complete the vision of a semi-circular, five-domed set of buildings at the heart of this historic University, but now that it is finally in place, the new, £18-million Bramall Music Building is the latest in a long list of world-class facilities being promoted by the marketing team.
Jamaica put all its trust in venuebirmingham to host its Olympics team during the summer – an occasion which culminated with triple gold medal winner Usain Bolt leading the praise for the people of Birmingham for giving him and his team-mates such a warm welcome.
