SWEDA Wins Community Excellence Award 2012, 6th July 2012

Success for SWEDA at the 11th Anniversary BCABA Annual Awards Dinner SWEDA received the Community Excellence Award, for outstanding achievement in community involvement.

SWEDA was established over 20 years ago as a Sandwell based Women’s Enterprise agency. Today SWEDA prides itself in working across the Black Country and in partnership with other in the West Midlands and now trades as Skills, Work, Enterprise, Development, Agency delivering support to anyone looking to get back into employment or Self-Employment.

Chief Executive Davinder Kaur said “It is great to receive recognition for what we do to help particularly by an organisation such as BCABA, we are pleased that the LEP also recognises the importance of Social Enterprise, and hope we can make a contribution to the future prosperity of the region through social impact measures.”

SWEDA run a range of workshops and other training and have experienced advisers, mentors and counsellors who help clients with their individual needs. There is a strong ‘family’ ethos at SWEDA and they have recently started to look for ‘friends’ who can help them to extend the range and reach of their support from volunteering to, use of premises to, funding.
