Gi Group UK a Major Recruiter Opens Flagship Birmingham Hub

Specialist recruiter Gi Group UK has opened a flagship branch in Birmingham to spearhead its Midlands operations as it continues to expand its presence and help clients connect with the extensive talent in the region.

The new branch – located on Hastingwood Business Park, Wood Lane, Birmingham – places Gi Group at the heart of an area of key strategic importance for the business and creates significant job opportunities for people in the Birmingham area.

Gi Group Birmingham is currently actively recruiting for over 150 roles ranging from highly skilled roles directly involved in the delivery of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games – for which Gi Group is the official recruitment partner - to logistic roles supporting the increase in demand for online retail, as well as a series of opportunities in the care sector.

In addition, four new Gi Group employees will join Branch Manager Andrew Page working with clients and candidates to recruit for temporary and permanent vacancies across the region.

Gi Group already has a strong impact in Birmingham, working closely with some of the UK’s best-known brands based here, including Royal Mail, Parcelforce and the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games. It also provides temporary and permanent staff to a series of major West Midlands-based logistics, automotive, food, pharma, the care sector and manufacturing organisations. But now with a direct presence at this new location, it aims to further support organisations in their search for available talent and to help individuals into work.

Gi Group’s Managing Director of Operations, Paul Smith said: “Opening in Birmingham is an exciting and natural progression for Gi Group. Over recent years there has been significant investment in the region which has attracted new brands looking for talented employees and we have already been supporting an increasing number of businesses with their workforce needs.

“It is home to some of the country’s best universities too, which act as a production line for talented youngsters who fall in love with the city and wish to stay. The Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games will also be hosted here and as the official recruiter for The Games we wanted to demonstrate our commitment to creating a lasting legacy by having a permanent local presence.”

Gi Group UK CEO Paulo Canoa added: “I’m delighted that Gi Group now has a physical presence in this great, culturally diverse and economically important city. Birmingham has played a prominent role in the UK economy for many years. It is as vibrant as ever with a diverse range of businesses creating thousands of job opportunities. We are extremely proud to support these businesses with their recruitment needs while also supporting those looking for work or to take the next step in their careers.”
