Finance Experts Fuel New Garage Success

A Redditch-based vehicle servicing and repair specialists are geared-up for a bright future, thanks to the cash injection that supercharged their new business.

Lisa Chance, John Hickley and Simon Jones decided to launch Avancer Transport & Maintenance Ltd, after being made redundant in July 2011. The 3 had been working for one company with a combined service of over 50 years. It was at this point that they decided to put their heads together and use their experience, as well as their contacts to form Avancer. In need of funding, the West Midlands business’ directors decided to talk to Central Finance, which acted swiftly and came up with a great package for the Redditch business.

Central Finance spokesman Steve Harris said: “Lisa approached us about four-to-five weeks before the business was due to open. “The challenge here was twofold – one, making sure we got the right facilities, and two, making sure they were approved in the timescales we had. To achieve this goal we used a mix of a bank, public sector and private funding.” Utilising Santander bank, Impetus (a local community loan fund) and asset finance.

Now the Avancer team, which services and repairs all types of vehicles, is on the route for further success, and hopefully it will go on to create new jobs. Lisa Chance, Director of Avancer, said the business has been open for nearly two months and everything is going well. “We had a really great start in our first month and with the hard work we have all put in, everything is going to plan,” she said. “We have faced a number of challenges in the short time in which we have been trading, but thanks to all the help and advice from Steve and Central Finance, we opened on time and have managed to maintain the high level of service which our customers are used to.” The Redditch-based repair specialists are celebrating their new garage, which offers anything from a car service to the full repair of a large commercial vehicle.
