Dodd Group lands £30m mechanical and electrical services deal with Solihull Council

Dodd Group has been awarded a new contract with Solihull council, expected to be worth up to £30 million over three years, but that could rise to as much as £600m over a decade.

The new contract replaces an existing Borough-wide partnering contract between the council and the Dodd Group which has been operating for the last seven years and brought in more than £20m in revenue at that time.

Dodd will supply mechanical and electrical services in conjunction with and on behalf of other local authorities and public sector organisations at a regional and national level.

The contractor expects the deal to be worth an initial £10m per annum, but under OJEU it could be extended to local authorities and schools.

Dodd Group managing director John Kavanagh said: “This is potentially one of the most exciting contracts that has been let in recent years and we are delighted to be a part of it.

“With up to a potential of ten years-worth of work it will help Dodd Group to retain its strong regional presence in the West Midlands and continue to employ and develop skills in the local area.”

Dodd Group’s property care division managing director Matthew Lewis said: “During the course of our existing contract everyone involved from both Dodd Group and Solihull Council has made a significant investment of time and effort to ensure that the goals of our Partnering Charter have been met.”
